Heart health starts from a very young age. Children who engage in physicaly activity and sports, as opposed to those who spend 2 hours and more in front of a screen, are already building their way to heart wellness.

Diet and exercise throughout your life influences heart health and wellness. Often we tend to ignore the heart till the thirties. But with the increasing incidence of people in their teens and twenties succumbing to heart attacks, it is clear that we now have to consider heart health from the early years itself.

Lack of exercise can lead to atherosclerosis, hardening of the arteries. High cholestrol and trigylcerides cause plaque buildup along the walls of the blood vessels and narrow the blood vessels, reducing volume of blood circulation.

Besides the actual heart condition, there are other indirect factors that affect the heart. Electrolytes and blood calcium levels greatly alter the functioning capability of the heart. Sometimes, people are born with weak hearts, weak heart valves and muscles, and other congenital heart defects. The ejection fraction is a measure of cardiovascular fitness and can be bettered with my healthy heart program.
